A little more than 5 months after Hurricane Ike all but wiped the little fishing community of Oak Island off the map the town continues to rebuild. With the help of Hooter’s a new sign now welcomes those who come to Oak Island.

Mardi Gras in Galveston

Almost six months after Ike, backpack reporter Becky Chosed takes a road trip to Galveston. She tells us how the island is doing after Hurricane Ike, and what Mardi Gras is like in 2009.
